The SXSW Gaming Cosplay Contest is without a doubt one of the most popular events at SXSW Gaming every year as it showcases the unique creative talents of the cosplay community. This year the contest was back and better than ever at the Alienware Outpost with a $3,000 prize pool!
DugFinn, over at DugFinn Cosplay, led the charge of helping attendees sign up throughout the 3-days of SXSW Gaming and vetting the contestants with fellow judges Crissie, Nemesis Cosplay; Kristoffer Ariola, Falamangosa Props Armory; and Matthew Myrow, Colossal Senpai.
The SXSW Gaming Cosplay Contest opened to a full house at the Alienware Outpost and contestants were judged as either competitors, for the five unique awards categories encompassing the best of design for cosplay, or as a participant in the overall contest for honorable mentions. The contestants for this year’s contest truly blew it out of the water and we could not be more excited to showcase the winners.
